‘Back to Gym’ a research amid COVID times of the gym goers & fitness enthusiasts across 65 TriCity GYMs reveals
Chandigarh: 27 November 2020: With Gyms across TriCity now open amidst COVID-19, Bingo Media conducted a research titled, “Back To Gym”, for the gym goers & fitness enthusiasts of TriCity in months of October & November with digital support from Rolling Frames Entertainment (RFE). This research aimed to get clarity on trends & insights on how lockdown & various phases of unlock affected fitness. Gym goers & Fitness Enthusiasts from over 65 gyms including Gold’s Gym phase 8 Mohali, Ultimate Fitness- Gyms, Oxizone Fitness & Spa, Hardgains Gym & many standalone gyms across Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Dhakoli, Mullanpur, Kharar & Kurali actively participated in survey that saw 25% females & 75% male respondents with 84% of the respondents giving thumbs up to the safe practices being deployed by the gyms & agreed that it’s safe to go to gym now.
The research had many interesting pointers that indicate how gym routine was hampered with lockdown because of COVID and the alternate modes the gym goers and fitness enthusiasts chose to keep up for their fitness routine. Almost 83% of the respondents really felt the gap of missing their regular gym routine. More interestingly, 43% of the respondents gained weight while 40% maintained their weight and 16% lost some weight.
During the lockdown & various stages of the lockdown, surprisingly 30% preferred home workout, followed by 20% who chose walking while jogging & cycling got equal takers at 15% each. 11% chose yoga and meditation got almost 9% that’s the least of the respondents.
